Looking back on the year 2011

2011 was a very exciting year for us with a calendar full of events starting with our members appreciation event in January, Bronx Medical Society breakfast in February, our 5th Annual Womens History Luncheon in March, Andy Montanez event in April. 2011 was a year for new first, as we launched our First Annual Expoferia in collaboration with the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce and had over 120 companies attend the NY State Armory at 26th Street and Lexington and our great success at our First Annual Trade Mission to Puerto Rico.

In August of this year I was chosen to be on the Governor’s Regional Economic Council for NY City, the council is charged with helping to shape a five -year economic plan for city and state and I am proud to be part of that.

We celebrated in December our 6th Annual Hispanic Business and scholarship awards banquet honoring Marlene Cintron President of BOEDC, Eric Garcia VP of Sales for LaMEGA and AMOR, Nicholas Melendez Vice President of Branch Banking for Wells Fargo and Richard Alvarez Director of Admissions for CUNY.

Congratulations to our CUNY scholarship winners who through their hard work and determination are laying the foundation for their future contributions to our city. I would like to give special thanks to our Executive Board and all the Board members for all there help during the year.
